Excellent question—and one I hear often. Honestly, I wasn't searching for a difficult topic to write, but veteran suicide fell into my lap. I started playing around with the idea of a suicidal vet and, while researching, realized what a massive problem it is these days. It's an area that doesn't get much attention, and one that I believe God called me to shine a light on.
While my grandpa and a few uncles (on both sides of the family) served in the military, I wouldn't consider us a military family. I am close to a few military families, however. ;)

Oohh, good question! My favorite thing about writing would probably be the characters. I love to 'get in their heads' and learn about them—their pasts, their dreams, their passions—and use that to write their stories. :)

Probably not. It's a nice thought, but I can't imagine that all the stories I have and will write will be officially published one day. You never know though! :)

Hello Ivie! Yes, I do plan to continue the Traven family's story. I have oodles of story ideas in that area, but I don't want to say much because I'm not sure how it's all going to work out. Whether those stories will ever be published or not, I'm not sure. Maybe they'll be available to my blog readers though! ;)

Yes, I would say that being homeschooled greatly influenced me. Besides being able to spend more time with my family and studying the Bible as part of school, it gave me more free time. For the past few years, I have been using that time to pursue writing. :)
