Through people's stories, people are inspiring, especially the ones who do things differently. I am inspired by story and characters, and why people do things. What are their hangups and insecurities, what is underneath their happy faces? Inspired by so many things, it is hard to pinpoint this. I do like real events as well.

I am working on my second novel. I have written a whole first draft but now I must rewrite and refine it.

Just keep writing, and write something that you are passionate about and will inspire you, as you need to set aside about 2-3 years of your life at least. I had problems with ideas that I couldn't commit to, as they were not inspiring enough. Where the Sun Rises based on the Kurdish women soldiers, inspired me the whole time. You need to find ideas that will do this for you. Keep writing. Write not for acclaim but to write a story that expresses the human condition and reflects life and says something. Well, that's what I like to do. I want to write some humourous writing soon. Try different styles of writing as well. :)

I write anything. The block is that you may be too critical. If you get the writing flowing, whether it is good or bad it doesn't matter. That's how I overcome it. Or I take a break from it. I have only ever had it once in my life when I was in my 20s. It was some journalism article I was writing. I have never had it again.
