I think I'm going to try some of those on my 'To read' list: Wide Sargasso Sea, The Picture of Dorian Gray, Persuasion, Emma, A Year in San Fernando

Mr. Rochester and Jane Eyre. Why? Because they are real. They are fictionalized into real personalities and not the cliche "Tall, dark and handsome or fair and lovely". They both had faults but were able to love each other despite. They fell in love, not because of outward appearances, but for the beauty that matters most and which is everlasting.

As mentioned before, I draw inspiration from everything around me therefore, I only write when inspired... (and still meet a deadline!)

I am currently in the stages of publishing the novel that I previewed at the end of Sans Espoir. It's called Surreal. I've also began work on two other books: Wolfe, The Strange Happenings.

Everything around me serves as inspiration. That's why story lines, character sketches or settings come to me just about anywhere, anytime: travelling, sleeping, working, shopping, showering... and I would immediately stop whatever it is I'm doing, grab whatever writing material available and jot down ideas.

Sans Espoir originally was a story that my husband woke one Sunday evening and told me. He knew how much I used to love writing as a teen so encouraged me to develop his story ideas. I agreed and not too long after I began working on the characters, a very good friend of mine was killed rather tragically so his death inspired part of the story as well as his life influenced that of one of the main characters of Sans Espoir. Being from Trinidad, I thought that my debut novel should showcase part of our local culture hence the reason for the use of colloquial language.
