Sarah E. Stevens Whichever one I need to feed to the kraken in order to be allowed to live.
Sarah E. Stevens At this point, I try to write daily--or at least five days of seven. What I struggle with most is lack of time. I work full-time and my family is a priority (I have three kids and a husband). There are days I fight for my words, but that's not the same as writing block--those minor struggles just mean you slog away and don't give up.

I did have significant writer's block for several years surrounding my divorce, which was a time of great emotional upheaval and stress and doubts about the-world-as-I-knew-it. The worst thing about writer's block was the ANGER I felt at myself. I didn't write at all for about four years and, every day of that time, I lived with guilt and fury at myself. Those emotions, of course, just increased my difficulty in getting back to my craft. If you're dealing with writer's block, I urge you to BE GENTLE with yourself. Sometimes your mind is occupied by other struggles and that needs to be okay. If you are kind to yourself and practice self-care, you'll get to a place where you can rediscover the joy of writing.
Sarah E. Stevens The glory and the fame? Hahahahahaha, jk. The moment I love best is when someone reads my writing and enjoys it--when something I've written or a character I've created speaks to the reader and means something to them. Then, of course we writers want to hear from you and KNOW that you liked it. I look forward to being here a lot and having conversations!
Sarah E. Stevens Just write. Don't let yourself get overwhelmed by self-criticism. Write what you'd like to read and just get the words down. If you start writing by dreaming about your publishing goals, you can be paralyzed by fears.
Sarah E. Stevens I'm editing book two of Calling the Moon, titled Waxing Moon. I am also writing book three, working title Rising Wolf. I have another book plot and character living in my head, but that's on hold while I finish these projects.
Sarah E. Stevens Some days, I feel inspired by reading a good book, by someone's offhanded phrase, by a chunk of open time stretching before me. And some days I don't feel inspired at all. Those days, I write because I try to make writing a close-to-daily practice. Sometimes the words flow onto the page, sometimes I fight hard for Every. New. Word.
Sarah E. Stevens When my son Zack was four months old, he bit my shoulder REALLY hard--left a scar you can still see today. After mentally swearing, I thought, "Well, at least he's not a Werewolf." Then my thoughts started swarming: What if he WERE a Werewolf? How would he have become a Werewolf? That would mean everything we think we know about Weres is wrong... How would I react to mothering a Were? Those were the first sparks of my Calling the Moon series.
