When I was a huge fan of shipping, I pushed heavily for Harry/Hermione. Still would if it were possible to change the "canon" outcome. They felt more compatible and far less combative (at least until Book 6 where basically everyone went out of character).
For fictional couples that have actually happened: Murder/Scully and Nathan Drake/Elena Fisher (Uncharted series). I also enjoy Leon & Ada's back and forth will they/won't they relationship from the Resident Evil franchise.

Very infrequently. Whenever I succumb to writer's block, I do one of two things: either I stop writing for the day or I brute force my way through. I don't really have a full-proof method for overcoming that dreaded numbness that sets in the mind of a writer. If I can write, I will. If I can't, I don't. That's all I can hope for when writer's block rears its head.

The smug sense of self-satisfaction! Just kidding. The best part of writing is breathing life into new creations. You craft their journeys, you decide their endings. You mold them into what you want them to become. Many of us are powerless in our own lives, but when writing a story we can make it about virtually anything.

Just do it. Don't meander or lounge around waiting for the perfect story to come along. Write what you want to write. Edit it to heck and back. If you've got the money (I did not) let professionals take a crack at it and see if it works. Whatever you do, you can't publish a novel until you sit down and finish it.

Aside from promoting and advertising The Shadow Over Lone Oak, I am also in the early stages of drafting its sequel. But I'll say no more so as to avoid spoilers.

Inspiration comes and goes. It's never a consistent source. One time I wrote a short story about a professional wrestler because of the way the term "chemical reaction" sounded in my head. Weird huh?

I had a dream about a horror video game with intertwined narratives. This dream later morphed into my novel when I watched Twin Peaks for the first time.
