I had to really think hard about this question. My favorite characters weren't always in my favorite settings. Most of the time, the settings involved danger. If I had to pick one place, it would be in the house of the Bennets. (Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice.) Listening to the family of girls trying to get a husband would be entertaining. Especially Elizabeth and her sharp tongue.

This answer came fast because I'm writing it right now. A child who would have been 35 is one of the characters in my upcoming novel, Beyond Natural. I used past tense because he died before he was born. (Abortion) My wife and I named him RJ, and his character is as I would have pictured him had he lived.

I have to say Ward and June Cleaver. Probably because I grew up with the Cleaver family. Every weeknight at 5:30.

I don't have writer's block. I heard some advice early in my writing career that I've used. When writing a scene, stop before you finish. I do this, and when I start the next day I can immediately write. And I'm continually reading. If you read a lot, you will write a lot.

Don't give up. There are days that it'll seem your tires are spinning. Then there are days when you'll get a lot of traction. Dig in, and write on.

I'm always plotting, writing and rewriting. I'm rewriting a book that comes before Night to Knight. It shows how Mark and Kaitlyn met, and the struggle she has when her fiancee, Joe is killed in a tugboat accident. The book is called, Beyond the Night.

I read a lot. Inspiration comes from other writers, their books, and in person. It's something that's deep within me, and my writing community keeps the flames on fire.

The idea started small, and as I talked to people, it grew. It takes a village to write a book. That's true in my case, as I've relied upon many people to give advice.
