Lucas Milliron My more recent books are very autobiographical. It's a blessing and a boon, a curse of an interesting life. I take a lot of those thoughts and insecurities I've grown up with and encapsulated it into fiction.
Lucas Milliron I've been writing since the 8th grade. It comes to me, and the characters tell me what to write. Sometimes it's an idea I start with and just build on it, sometimes I just sit down and let the words come alive.
Lucas Milliron Presently working on the last three books in the Becoming series, as well as outlining plots on a few releases hopefully ready by 2018.

Also...thick skin.
Lucas Milliron The feedback from reads! I love hearing what people have to say about my stories, and yes it's not always good. I like to hear what people think I was trying to say, and just the interactions with other creatives. Writing is mostly a solitary activity, locking yourself in a dark room while you quietly brood over your next bout of fiction. But it's the interaction with readers and my peers that i enjoy.

Writing itself for me is therapy, it's passion, and it's just what I do. If i wasn't putting these stories out into the world, I'd still be writing.
Lucas Milliron When I hit a wall, one of the things I try to do is step away from the project and focus on something else. Often I'll go for a run around the neighborhood or even work on other projects. I find short stories are a good way to exercise the creative part of my brain and try things I could later use in the book itself.
