Robin Prijs My most recent book is 'Never living a lie again', which is my autobiography. In the last years I have thought about writing it, but every time I started, I threw it away again. That was mainly because of my uncertainty and because I thought nobody was waiting for my story, which mainly describes a lot of pain and struggles, without many successes. But then I realized that most people rather read about things that are real, things they can relate to, then to read about something fictional. So few people dare to share about their true self. Therefore I decided to give it a go and to see if I could do it.
Robin Prijs It really just 'comes to me', just like that. Then I start to dig into the Word of God until I have more then enough material to write with.
Robin Prijs I just finished my latest book, 'Never living a lie again', which is my autobiography. After this I would really like to write a book about sexuality, from a Christian point of view, but I haven't started yet.
Robin Prijs To me that is being able to communicate to people you would otherwise never meet or speak with. I write non fictional books, so to me it is all about the message and to reach as many people as possible. Writing is an excellent way to do that.
Robin Prijs In everything I do, I am trying to be vessel God can work through. The Word of God gives a few very important keys when it comes to understand the Bible, which can be found in Matthew 7:7. These keys are: ask, seek and knock. In my experience, when you apply those keys, it is the Holy Spirit Who makes the Word alive for you and Who adds understanding and insight to it. Then you're able to understand the Scriptures and to see the bigger picture behind it. I always say that it is like being able to look in more dimensions. Before I start writing, I always try to come at that point first. When I am, then I start writing whatever the Holy Spirit shows me. The last thing I want is to use my own insight and understanding, for when He shows His point of view, it is much more exciting!
