Scott Baron Hey Chuck, I rarely hop on Goodreads so I missed this question. Sorry. I hope to get the next one out maybe this year, but I'm working on a new Bawb series for a Charlie/Space Assassins spinoff and that's the big priority.
Scott Baron Ah, thanks. I didn't list it, the Goodreads Librarians did. They decided to call book 1 book 0.5 because it's a novella. It's idiotic but hopefully they'll change it back to normal (like all of the cover numbering).
Scott Baron It's up there since 10/22. Might be some tech issue. Here's book 1 and also the bundle of 1 & 2:

Scott Baron Wow, mother of all typos! Thanks for catching that. It somehow got past me, my beta readers, and my editor! Persistent little bugger, that one!
Scott Baron Almost all of them are on Audible now. Books 8 & 9 should be out soon!
Scott Baron Not for kids, no. Teens and up I'd say. And there is some sex in a few of them (mild) and a fair amount of profanity.
Scott Baron It is! Both Space Pirate Charlie and Dragon King Charlie should be out in late October/early November (trying to get them both out by Halloween).
Scott Baron To crush your enemies. See them driven before you. To hear the lamentations of their women.

No, wait... I think I answered the wrong "what is best" question. (Now I need to watch Conan the Barbarian again)
Scott Baron In the case of creating short stories, I'll either pick a random thought or prior idea from my notes and just start writing about it (which has had some really wonderful outcomes). More often than not, that kicks things into gear.

If it's a longer work I am revisiting, I'll try to jump in and edit sections I know need work. Soon enough, the writing bug usually bites and I can move on to new scenes and material.

Of course some days you simply know it isn't working no matter what you try. I just accept when those days hit and instead try to go out and get some fresh air.
Scott Baron I seem to always have a bunch of short stories rattling around in my noggin, and fortunately those are pretty quick to be hatched. Conversely, there are screenplays, novels, and play adaptations, all in some stage of progress. I'm focusing a lot on shorts these days simply because with my day job those are ones I can finish with the demanding schedule on-set. (we sometimes work 17 hour days, which is not conducive to having your brain functioning enough to write).
Scott Baron Oddly enough, the title "Buddy John's Lost & Found" popped into my head while sitting at the beach staring at the waves. No idea why, but it struck a chord. Later that day I sat for hours and wrote the first draft of that story totally freeform, with no plan or outline. That story was about eighty-five percent of what's in the book today. The rest of the stories were cherry-picked from the others I've been working on, typically with similarly random inspirations.
