Never had it. I may have trouble deciding what direction I want a book to go in or whether or not to kill off a character or make a liked character that readers rave about a bad guy/ girl. But I honestly never get writers block. If I have no ideas, I can just people watch and go from there. In that, I'm blessed.

Being recognized, emails from readers, speaking at black student unions at universities and most of all the escape that writing affords me. Once you get past the BS, there are a lot of people willing to help and once you become part of the community you have friends for life. Though I am not a marquee author, I have MANY friends that are who will always pick up the phone and motivate me, give me advice or a verbal kick in the behind because I am slacking, lol.

Write for fun, not fame or money. Don't let anyone tell you what you can't do and most importantly BE WARNED. THE BOOK INDUSTRY IS ALMOST AS BAD AS THE MUSIC INDUSTRY. That's not to throw shade but people WILL take advantage of you and your talent. I have been burned multiple times in this industry even by so called friends as well as people asking me to sign with a publishing house that is AA owned. Never again. PROCEED WITH CAUTION!!!!!

I just finished The Mistress Rules. The Third part of that series will be called The First Lady and it will be the last installment of that series. However, I am working on my first Latin or Hispanic love story called No Me Ames (Don't Love Me) inspired by the video with JLo and Mark Anthony.

I'm inspired by music videos and mostly people. I can be at dinner, a coffee house or the grocery store and have a whole fantasy regarding what I think a woman is like (Granted I'm sure I am completely wrong, but I look at people and imagine what they are going through) Also, people in my social circle always seem to be going through some type of drama and I know I would handle things differently, so I write about them

I love the artist Joe Thomas. I saw his video called Love & Sex with Kelly Rowland and the video inspired the book. Also, my book, Second Time Around was inspired by Joe's video If I were your Man.
