Vatsala Sinha Being a hard core romantic, I still love the idea of simple love stories and believing that love can overcome everything else. I know it may not be practical at times but the dreamer in me loves the idea of romance. I love the character of Jennifer and Oliver as a couple, from Erich Segal's Love story. Even though it ended tragically but the couple stood by each other and for each other without ever giving up. It was a sweet and ideal relationship between them and I could completely see Jennifer and Oliver getting old together. I read the book a long time ago and hence not able to recall particular details at present but loving someone without any worldly frills and being content with each other's company, be it in a palace or a leaking roof (metaphorically) is what moves me.
Vatsala Sinha I have read a few books with characters of Witches and Vampires. Not to mention, I really liked the first part of Twilight. However I felt I was a bit old to read a lot of other Witch stories where the witches were still struggling in high school. I also needed to have more realistic story line and characters that I could relate to. Also a couple of years ago, I read a news article about someplace in Africa where they would abandon even a new born baby by declaring him/her a Witch. Another thing is, back when I used to live in India, while growing up, I used to hear stories of women being branded as witches and were stoned to death. Every year I would hear some woman being killed in the name of Witchery. It was clear that these superstitions were just for convenience, to get rid of certain weak members of our society. So many factors and a lot more came together to give me ideas regarding my most recent book. Obviously we don't have witches walking around us, but in my mind, I always thought, what if there were witches around us? Does that mean they have to be bad? Should we be scared of them? Can they feel just like us? A lot of questions and feelings about a fantasy character, which could just be a different species than us, living between us, and who deserved to be treated in a justified manner, made me write my most recent novel 'A Witches Love Story.'
Vatsala Sinha I see inspiration in everything. Books, News, Blogs, Articles, walking on the street, staring a couple holding hands, a haunted house at the end of the street and much more.

Vatsala Sinha Keep writing! I can't advice more at this stage, as so far that is the only thing I have been doing, writing and writing.
Vatsala Sinha Best thing about being a writer is that I get to live so many lives. I have always had stories going on in my mind...like what if.... I wish I was...or I don't know what that person must be thinking...etc. And then the day I decided to finish my first book, I realized that it was beautiful way of finishing the stories that only I could see in my mind and share with others. Also I feel the simple act of writing and finishing those thousands of words, re-reading my draft, editing it, everything has taught me to be extremely patient!
Vatsala Sinha I actually struggle to find time to write the overwhelming amount of ideas that buzz around my mind. My daily life keeps me too busy to get into a writer's block when I really get time to write. So far the only time I have experienced a writer's block is when I am sleep deprived. So a good night's sleep and I am back with ideas. Another thing that I have found useful is read everything and anything around. Like books, news, blogs, articles or just any random stuff... inspiration can pop up from anything and in my case that has happened often.
