It was actually the first ever idea I had for a novel, it came to me in 2015! I wrote the first three or so chapters, and paused as the idea for A Stranger in France came to me. I wrote A Stranger in France, and Not Just for Christmas and put my current book on hold, as I wanted to get the story and research part correct. I went back to what I wrote over a year later and redrafted the story. The idea itself, this came from my general interest in crime stories and London's "underground" scene.

Hmm, general day to day living I'd say. Experiences that we have as human beings. Music inspires me, my community, what I hear on the news, London inspires me also places/countries that I have visited before. Anything goes! It's quite easy for me to hear, see or feel something and think " Ah, that's cool I could write something about that."

A thriller story, set in London, Amsterdam and the Caribbean. A now thirty- five year old woman has been convicted for a murder she did not commit. However everything is against her- she's mentally ill. There is a flash fiction preview on my author site!

Be true to yourself, write what you want, how you want. You will be told " write this or that" or "do it this way or that way", but chances are if it does not feel right to you or fit with the kind of writer you are, or the kind of stories you like to create you'll lose your creative side, motivation and probably never finish your work. Be yourself, write like yourself.

The opportunity to create stories, and get your creative ideas down on paper. It's an enjoyment of the process of writing for me. For me, the enjoyment comes from the genre I write in also, I love to read it and write about it equally. I think if you can find a genre you love, you will love the joy writing generally can bring.

I personally plan, plan plan! Then write like no one is looking, as I have a synopsis for each chapter and character before I even start to write. I have blogged about this in detail on my author site, but in a nutshell, I won't write a word until I have some kind of direction, then every time I sit down to write I know where I am going and what I'm focusing on while writing.
