Mustafa Ozalcin From my experience, writers block is either "direct" or "indirect".

Direct; when you're "lost" or stuck with where you're going with your book and what to write.

Indirect; when factors outside your book interfere with your writing and creative thought process.

I normally write first and then design the book cover last (yeah, I design my own covers) . If during the writing process I get serious, direct writers block, I'll work on the cover. Other times I'll just stop. Writing's a hobby, so there's no point in forcing something if you're not having fun.

If the cause is an indirect one, then you at least know the cause is, and can address it.
