Roland Media Distribution It started when I read Lean In: Women, Work, and the Will to Lead. I jokingly asked a friend if I should write a similar book for men called "Pull Out". She laughed, and said, sure, why not.

But as I considered it seriously, I realized how badly the men's rights movement needed a book that was about more than picking up women or working out. We needed something that was political and intellectual, something that would help free us from the institutions and ideologies that were holding us down.

I saw how many young men were shrieked into silence on college campuses, and how older men were shrieked into subservience in the own homes and marriages. I saw how the medical community had abandoned men, for example by failing to recommend paternity tests, and how the legal institutions were abusing men, for example by forcing them to pay for products of paternity fraud.

I wrote this book for the men I know, the men I've met, and the men who are currently living half lives. I believe it's time for men to commit mutiny against the current status quo. I know it's time to pull out.
