S.K. Wee Hi Jean, thanks so much for your interest! I hope you enjoy the story.💞
S.K. Wee It’s a different world, the countries are similar as far as oceans, rivers, and mountains. The planet is Earth, but it’s not our Earth.
S.K. Wee What made you decide to write a coming of age story? I love that we can start at a very crucial part of their life. How they handle their problems during the teen years colors their judgement all through life. I like being there through all of that.
S.K. Wee Very much so. They lead me to where they want to go and what they say or do. Once in a while, we have to sit down and have a serious discussion about where they are headed. They never listen to reason, though.
S.K. Wee Promotion. I believe most writers are introverts and hate self-promotion. Even if you go the traditional publishing route, the books still must be promoted.
S.K. Wee I still love the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, but also love Robin Hobb and Melissa McPhail. Though these may have influenced my writing, many of the indie authors I have since met have become my idols.
S.K. Wee Since my retirement, almost eight years ago, I realized that much of my feelings of self-worth were tied up into my work environment. Without those feelings of accomplishment, I needed to at least try to write my story. Now that the fourth and final installment of Spectrum of Color series is nearly ready I feel that I have a renewed sense of self-worth and though it may never become a best seller, I am proud of my contribution.
S.K. Wee After reading many fantasy stories, I wanted to tell the tale I’ve always wanted to read. Though the story sounds flawless while it runs through my brain, putting it down into written words that someone else can see and feel what is intended is not so easily done.
S.K. Wee I love the creative aspects of writing. When I first sit down I start with a fairly loose idea of where I intend to take a story line, but the characters usually spin their own story apart from where I initially intended. I love telling their tales. Some times I amaze myself and other times I’m disappointed, but it’s all good!
S.K. Wee My main female character, nicknamed Frankie, receives a ‘gift’ from her goddess. She sees and feels the emotions of others in the form of colors. She has to learn how to deal with all these feelings of others while trying to navigate through her own emotions. There are many people she meets that exude no colors at all. Part of her story involves figuring out why some can hide all their colors from her.
