Tim Baughman Jr. That depends on what you qualify as my most recent book. Both Kotov Syndrome and the soon-to-be-released Woodpusher came out of a short story I wrote back in 2015. The two characters in that story would loosely become Erika and Abby, but they're different enough that nothing but the fact that the two main characters used to date and are meeting in a weird office building stayed.

If you count the most recent thing I've started working on, I have an interactive fiction piece I started creating under a pen name. Someone said something stupid on the internet. I've since written over 10,000 lines of code and 40k words in this story which directly disproves their logic. Nothing fuels quite like putting bigots in their place.
Tim Baughman Jr. I drove home one night, my home glowing in the distance like the last flickers of a dying candle. It wasn't until I arrived in my driveway, watching the smolders of my house sink into the earth beneath where it once stood, that I realized I'd left my wallet atop my car when I drove away from the gas station.
Tim Baughman Jr. I try to focus on other projects that use my mind in a different way. I juggle a lot of creative balls at one time, but they all tend to make me think in different ways. If there's a manuscript/short story/whatever that I'm stuck on, I'll go write a podcast script, or record something, or whatever. Then, once I'm in a better place mentally, I'll come back to what I was working on. It may take a few days or even a few weeks, but it does help.
