She was alone in the creaky old house but could hear a thump, thump, thump, coming down the shadowed staircase. The hairs on the knap of her neck stood up and her flesh prickled with fear as a blood soaked ball came to rest at her feet.

"A Nation of Sheep" and " It is Dangerous to be Right When the Government is Wrong" both by Judge Andrew P. Napolitano.
I'm not a fan of non fiction but with all the turmoil in the Whitehouse, I think I should brush up a bit.

My great great grandfather traveled west, leaving a wife and some children behind. He started a new life, changed his name, Re-married and had several children with his new wife. The why's are unknown. Did he fall in love with this other woman before or after he went west? Did he have some sort of falling out with his wife or extended family causing him to flee? I don't know.

I don't know that I have a favorite. I like characters I can become as I read. If I can not relate to the character, even on a very basic level, then I can't manage to finish the book. I like some of the classics like Holmes and Watson or Frodo and Sam (Lord of the Rings) I think I enjoy couples that compliment one another well and where the least of the two becomes the most important at times. A role reversal, if you will

I did not have an idea when I sat down to write. I think I might write differently than most. I see something in my minds eye ( an establishing shot, if you will) I start describing it and it slowly evolves into a 'movie' in my mind. I just try to 'paint the scene with words' to convey what I 'see' to my readers

For me, that's like asking 'How do you get inspired to breathe'? I need no inspiration. I have always written, just never wrote a book. It was computers and the ability to manipulate documents that really got me writing. I had always stumbled when I wanted to move paragraphs or sentences around. Not being a fast or even a decent typist, the thought of retyping something because I didn't like the flow of a sentence/ paragraph stopped me dead in my tracks.
My penmanship, especially when I'm in a writing frenzy, is difficult if not impossible for someone else to decipher (or even me at times) so writing longhand, though much faster and fluid, wasn't something I wanted to do either.

Don't let ANYONE tell you, 'you can't'. I was told 'you can't' many times, even by my mother (because my spelling is atrocious, I LOVE 'spell check') I don't know if I would have written sooner or not. If you love to write, then write. I want the world to read my novel and the subsequent books I write. However in the grand scheme of things, it really doesn't matter, because I did it!

You have the control over the world you create. Nothing happens without your approval.

I'm currently writing book 2 in the "From Earth to Terra" series. I expect to have it published by the end of 2016
