For me, writer's block means that I'm usually afraid of something. Whether it's not being good enough, not being able to get the story on the paper the same way it's in my head, or something awful I know I need to do to a character. Once I'm able to identify what's scaring me, I can figure out how to deal with it and move on.

One day in the summer, after I'd recently gotten married and moved to Georgia, I was sitting in my office in my brand new house, trying to figure out something to write. Then this girl walked into my head, she was so confident, she acted like she belonged there, or even like she'd always been there. She asked, "What have we got?" and I thought... I don't know, but I really want to find out!
