I was working, as part of a very large team, on the artificial intelligence for a robotic vacuum cleaner. This is painstaking work, and the software had been in development for many, many years. In a moment of abject frustration with the inefficiencies of it all, I realised that once the AI is good enough to write the AI things will be...different.

I write anyway.
I try to write a given number of words every day. If they happen in retrospect to be bad words, or good words in a bad order, I'll happily throw them away.
In short, I don't believe in writer's block.
