Hi Celia! Thank you so much for your question. I am not First Nations, but many of my blood relatives are. I am a Shaman and a sacred pipe carrier. My Elder is a fourth-generation Shaman and carrier of six sacred pipes. It took twenty-eight years to write this book; twenty-eight years of researching and reviewing, particularly regarding the many concepts and various cultural beliefs involved in reincarnation and Shamanism. I used that research to write a fiction story. As for the second part of your question, I am not sure what you mean by these people? There are many people in the book, and they are all related, as we are also related to you.

Enjoy yourself. Write for you and let your imagination soar! Always remember though to listen to those voices that enter head between 2:30 and 3:30 in the morning. Have something by the side of the bed to jot down notes with.

Hi Julie ~ The books were sent out by the publisher to the addresses provided and were sent by Canada Post which deals with Australia post for deliveries. It will take a few weeks for the book to get there but please let me know if there are any difficulties. Cheers!

Keep writing. Every chance you get. Sometimes write for yourself, sometimes write for others. Don't get hampered by 'convention' and write with your own voice. Sometimes we get blocked by 'rules' when really we should use words and punctuation as oil paints, spreading and blending them in a way that tells our story in our true voice.

I try not to get in my own way and let the frustration go. I just keep writing, maybe about something else or maybe just useless stuff. Anything can be edited. If things get really bad I just go hug a horse.

The story came about from a series of short stories that I had written over the years and some events and situations that I had either experienced or was aware of. The thing that started it all rolling along happened when I was driving home from the dentist's office one day and I posed the question of 'what if' from the perspective of a girl I had known in my childhood. From there the story took on a life of its own and the characters came to me and took control as I became submerged in their world. Sometimes you think you are writing the book but maybe the book is writing you!
