Justin Conboy Writers block to me isn't about coming up with ideas, it's about dedicating time to writing. Finding the time. Sitting down for 8 hours at a time. It's difficult, it's strenuous, it's frustrating and can drain you, mentally.
Especially if you're holding down a regular job as well.
I write at night, it's tiring, but it's just for 5 months, then you're in the editing phase for another 5 months, which isn't as hard.
Justin Conboy Get the whole story down on an Excel file. 150 lines.
The start writing, don't stop, just keep writing until you have all your 150 lines turned into 150 pages.
Then start again and flush and add until you have your 300 pages, 80k words.
Then you start again for the 3rd time.
Then you get an editor. Spend two months fixing all the 18,000 corrections (Actually had 18,000 in this new book).
Do what your editor says, but go with your gut if you need to.
Get a good artist, make sure your cover is excellent.
Fix your edits, then have the editor give the book a once over.
Fix the last few edits.
The proofread X10. Different people.
Publish on Kindle/Amazon.
Don't bother with publishing houses.
(You'd have written a second book by the time you send out all the cover notes and manuscripts, just to get "we're sorry, but the book dosen't suit us".)
Easy. Anyone can do it.
Justin Conboy "PQ26: Armageddon Was Just the Beginning".
It's about an asteroid hurtling towards earth. Two main characters, Aaron Jacobs at Caltech and Eva Monnier from Nice, discover the splintered off asteroid. It follows there story and how they are involved from the start to the end of the asteroid.
It's really there story, not the asteroid story.
Justin Conboy When I have to full story, it's easy to be inspired. The hard part is getting the story together.
I usually use and excel file for this. I come up with 150 one line scenes, so I can chop and change where bits and pieces go, very easily.
Justin Conboy "PQ26: Armageddon Was Just the Beginning", is kind of Armageddon meets Game of Thrones.
I was getting a bit dismayed with all the dystopian books out there. They all seem to have many outlandish theory's as to how the world could become dystopian. I figured, I had an idea that was 100% original, and factually realistic (to a degree).
