Hands down it is Paul and Chani from the Dune Series. Why? Well, because they are in perfect sync with each other and they understand each other. Chani is just the anchor that Paul needs in his crazy vision-filled life, and Paul is the perfect partner for her as well. She humanizes him, and he is her true idol come to life.

I get inspired from everything and anything - snippets of conversation you end up overhearing, a scene from a movie, a sentence in the newspaper, an 'what-if' scenario, a regular conversation with friends and family - pretty much anything that sets sparks flying and the gears churning inside of my head.

There is one way that has always worked - journaling. I pick up one of the many journals lying around, take a pen and go to another part of the house and just start writing whatever is going on in my head. Even if it is a grocery list, I write it down. Then I write full stream of consciousness stuff about the book and the story that I'm muddling around with. I sit and write for at least 20 minutes. Usually, that resolves whatever gears are stuck inside of my head, and then I get back to my computer and start writing again.
