Ram Iyer Umm… I could try… :)

“Groggily, he pushed himself up with his palm on the pavement, cursing the thirst that had woken him up, and wished for some light so he could find his water bottle under one of his neighbours’ leg. His wish was granted in a moment, only that he realised in a second that that would be his last.”
Ram Iyer Ah, don't judge me, but I just got my first Agatha Christie. My next would be the collection of Hercule Poirot short stories! :)
Ram Iyer That's a mystery in itself!

Jokes apart, here it is, even though it is hopelessly clichéd.

When I was a child, I used to go to this railway yard on the then outskirts of Ahmedabad (Gujarat, India). There used to be some story or the other about the place, the place being haunted and so on. However, I never believed in it. That's how childhood cousin stories are.

But it also used to get me thinking sometimes in my adolescence, as to if there was something really going on there, of course not supernatural, but something else. And recently, I did hear some incidents surrounding it. I just hope I can someday go there and investigate some things about it. I think it could serve as a decent plot. LOL
Ram Iyer To be honest, I just let it be. I leave the work right there, and go out and observe the world objectively. It helps a lot.
Ram Iyer It's an amazing feeling. And it's about giving a stage to your dreams, and make others feel them.
Ram Iyer Wow, I'm one myself. But if I may be allowed to 'advice', I'd say, writing comes with practice. And a prerequisite to it is reading.
So read as much as you can.
Ram Iyer I'm currently working on an extension to The Damp Roman Candle. I don't know how it would be taken, but the extension does excite me. I'm yet to decide on whether or not to share it with the world; if yes, how—a separate book, or an extension to the same one. I'd probably go with a separate book.
Ram Iyer When I was in the sixth grade, I wrote a short story during the summer holidays, and gave it to my dad to read. He, in turn, wrote another short novel and told everyone in my extended family (cousins and all) that I'd written it.
My dad inspired me.
Ram Iyer I'd been feeling a little gloomy about life during October – November 2015. Around the same time, I was also witnessing the troubles in the life of a friend of mine, who, once, mentioned suicide.
One day, I sat thinking what kind of torment she should've been going through to have mentioned suicide, and that worked as the seed to this story.
