Barbara Warren Actually,I would go to my own book Everlasting Lies! It is at the end set in India and I would want to journey around Calcutta and spend time in Darjeeling where the story ended.
As a first time Author , I am now reading my own book, over a year after it was published. It is very interesting, because when you write the book you are so involved with the story, now I am far enough removed ,that the reading is enjoyable, interesting and surprising! In fact , I understand why some people when they meet me , ask am I writing the sequel!
Barbara Warren I never experienced this writing my first novel. Maybe it was because it had been rolling around in my head for a long time! Till I final announced , " I am going to right a novel!"
Barbara Warren I believe , IF I had been able to tell her that Charles was not her father, I think, she would have felt relief and gained understanding. She often wondered why Charles did not like her. Often wondered why he treated her differently from her siblings.
Would she have gone searching. I doubt that she would have done this. Bill died in 1944. She was only 24 then.
My thoughts on my grandparents reaction, they would have denied and continued to lie about their lives.
Barbara Warren I recently found my books read from 1997 to 2004. Always kept a yearly list. Had them put on here much easier to see here on Goodreads. I always gave them a value, strange but true. Surely every one does this? How else would you know if you wanted to read it again?

Barbara Warren Well as a new writer it is about the excitement, people are happy to meet you.
The learning curve is huge, writing is easy, but starting a business at 76 (crazy), promotion, agh learning excel (invaluable.)
The pride my family have, though I blame them for all the edits I went through and the toning down of "the erotica!" Fortunately I have the first draft!
The dreams it gives you and simple enjoying the moments.
Barbara Warren Make the decision, and just write and write. I was a teacher, and I knew i needed some guidance on my content. I then found an amazing person in Tanis, simply on line, when I finished the first part of the book I employed her to look at content for feed back only. I continued to write the middle, then the end. Tanis was great and kept telling me, keep writing finish the book. don't look back. You really need someone who does not know you to be there for you, especially with a first novel.
Barbara Warren For me this was not difficult to write. The story was shouting to come out. My first draft of Everlasting Lies was over 10900 words. This took me from November 2013 to August 2014 to write . I wrote anywhere, anytime it was always with me.
Barbara Warren When I first retired I did genealogy and found out that my grandfather was not my mother's father. This desire to know turned me into a sleuth! Hence, seventeen years later in 2013 I announced I was going to write a novel. So this is my first novel.
