They took all of my books away.😳

I enjoy getting to know other authors, reading their work, and finding out what books inspire them. I noticed your genres and the books you've written reflect books I like to read and write. I've added your Black Orchestra series on my "to-read" list because they look like books I'd be interested in reading. You were suggested to me as an individual I might like to befriend or follow. I hope that answers your question. Thanks.

What isn't on my Summer Reading List? :)
I recently read "Once and for All" by Sarah Dessen, which I have to say was my most anticipated read! It was perfect! I already want to reread it.
I'm currently rereading "The Hollow" by Jessica Verday. I have picked up a copy of "Scrappy Little Nobody" by Anna Kendrick. I plan on reading ANYTHING and EVERYTHING by Fredrik Backman, a new favorite! I will be taking on Madeleine Roux's "Asylum" series with a book buddy.
I just read Em Shotwell's book "Forget Me Not". It was a great read. I just read "Everything, Everything" by Nicola Yoon and can say she blew me away! I will be reading EVERYTHING she writes! I'm in the middle of "Perdition" by Lindsey Ouimet.
A few others:
"Burn Baby, Burn Baby" and "Half Dead and Fully Broken" by Kevin Craig
"The Slope Rules" by Melanie Hooyenga
"Starstruck" by Sarah Anderson
"Selected Poems and Letter" by John Keats (this will be ongoing)
"The Essential Byron" by Paul Muldoon (this will be ongoing)
"The GI's War: The Story of American Soldiers in Europe in WWII" by Edwin P. Hoyt (this will be ongoing)
"Our Song" by Jordanna Fraiberg
"Summer of Supernovas" by Darcy Woods
"Suffer Love" by Ashley Herring Blake
I will keep adding, I'm sure! If you have a favorite book or series let me know! I would love to add some great reads to my Summer Reading List"!

I always find it difficult when I'm asked what my favorite book is or who my favorite characters are. Instinctively, I want to say, they all are! Of course, such a statement may be a wee bit of an exaggeration, but I do have so many beloved books.
Although I might pick something different on another day, you know us readers and our moods, I have to say one of my favorite fictional couples are Annabel Greene and Owen Armstrong from Sarah Dessen's book, "Just Listen".
This is such a fabulous story centering on what it means to tell the truth, share when you need to, and trust others to be there for you. Their connection and growth over the pages, as individuals and as a couple, is endearing and believable.
Sarah Dessen does such a wonderful job at creating life-like characters who make you think in a new way and have unique, fun voices. I love her books, and this is one of my favorite stories.
Owen and Annabel are definitely a realistic couple with realistic problems that are easy to believe, relate, and understand. They are definitely a couple to read. :)

I just KEEP writing! Whether it's notes, ideas for future books and plots or characters, and even just random thoughts. I reread what I have just written in my current story or in my notes to get inspiration to continue.

Really, the best thing about being a writer is getting down this conglomeration of words and thoughts onto a page, and then having people enjoy what you have written! It is the best feeling ever!!

NEVER, EVER GIVE UP!!! Always believe in yourself and what you are accomplishing. Find a friend to help set goals and work with, if you can. I've been really blessed to have support from family and friends. I have an author friend, Dorian Tsukioka-- maybe you've heard of her? We are writing buddies and get together at least once a month to write, write, write. I have another best bud, who is also a graphic design artist, and she helps with my covers. Both have been very supportive of me and my writing. That's not even counting the beta-readers I have who voluntarily read my work, edit it, or make suggestions. April Erwin, another fabulous writer, has been such a help in giving wonderful feedback to me as a writer. The fact that she and others take time to help is amazing to me.
So, keep writing and surround yourself with others who will support you.

I am currently involved in writing a series which starts in the middle of WWII. It is a four-part series which will take a look at characters who grew up through the depression in the midwest and how this affected their lives during and after the war. It will be a mystery, Christian fiction twist. I've been reading several biographies and researching the 35th Infantry Division to help complete the first book. I'm eager to finish these novels. They are a favorite for me.

I've been inspired to write since I was little, and started writing my first novel at age 12. The desire to become a writer started with my love of reading. Nancy Drew and then Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) in Murder, She Wrote both inspired me. I wanted to be a crime detective!
Then, I decided to write about them instead. My first two novels were mysteries and my third novel was a historical fiction christian thriller. They may resurface later in my self-published works. Currently, they are on the edit and revise back-burner.

Wow, I guess I can't say, 'It just came to me'? Heehee. I was thinking about what to write one night for a contest fairytale retelling, and it came to me, 'Why not create a Cinderella story that starts with a curse?'
That started it all.
