Anna Chant Hi Cristina, thank you for your question. I hope you are enjoying the book! I agree the Dark Ages are fascinating - so many people who helped shape Europe and we know so little about them! Kenneth Mac Alpin is a good example of a king who deserves to be better known. In the scraps of information we have, he emerges as a true Dark Age leader - devious, brutal and yet capable of amazing things! My next book is about another British woman, but not a Scottish one. Again we do not know her name, but her story is remarkable. It's set in an earlier period than Kenneth's Queen. I'm still at an early stage of writing, so I'm afraid I can't give away too much information just yet! I'll be updating this page as I get nearer completion.
Anna Chant The unknown and unanswered elements of history always seem to hide a story.
Anna Chant Just write. There're so many opportunities and advice there's never been a better time.
Anna Chant Escaping into different places and times.
Anna Chant I make myself write a sentence each day. Even if it's just something like 'He shook his head.' However unmotivated I'm feeling i can manage four words! Usually once I start writing I don't want to stop.
Anna Chant Another Dark Ages novel, about another woman whose name has not been recorded, but whose story i feel deserves to be told.
Anna Chant Procrastination! I was trying to research a later Scottish queen, but kept clicking on interesting links. Eventually I got back to Kenneth Mac Alpin and fell in love with his story, so I wrote that one instead of my original plan.
