M.E. Syler Hi John, I obtain books from several sources: Twitter, Bookbub, friend recommended, and Goodreads. If I remember correctly I believe it was Book bub.
M.E. Syler I finished "Nest" by Terry Goodkind, 4 stars, I'm reading several books related to writing, "The Breakout Novel" and "Scene by Scene" 5 stars. I also have an MC Beaton, PD James, RB Parker and Michael Connolly books on my list. That doesn't include my eBook library that I started to play through my new "Echo" device.
M.E. Syler I avoid writers block by writing. Any type of writing. Sometimes it does not pertain to the current project. Othertimes it may be jibberish, but It never fails that once I begin to put down words the barriers are knocked down. Oftentimes writer's block is more about a writer's mood or not managing distractions than having a true brain freeze.
M.E. Syler Currently, I have a couple of writing projects underway. Short stories: "The Widower," I wrote in a group project sponsored by Master Class, was submitted to an anthology. Working on other short stories for my Faith & Charity series. Novels: I'm outlining the next Robert Snow and Laura Bright story, and working on a fantasy I had about half way finished when I decided to complete The Finger Of Suspicion.
M.E. Syler The Finger Of Suspicion started with a synopsis of a murder trial. The defendant was a woman accused of killing her husband. The story grew in many different directions to where the original idea is not in the book. Also, our road trips to the Great Smokey Mountains and my interest in the folklore and history of the region shows up in the back story.
