Jane Alvey Harris No, it is a planned trilogy. The 3rd book, PRIMED, will be released early 2020!
Jane Alvey Harris Right now I'm reading IT by Stephen King, and I might bump my TBR a bit to read THE DARK TOWER next. My kids gifted me first edition signed copies of Neil Gaiman's THE OCEAN AT THE END OF THE LANE and Philip Pullman's HIS DARK MATERIALS trilogy for Mother's Day this year, so I'll be re-reading those favorites as well. Last (but definitely not least), I'm stoked to read SON by Lois Lowry to finish off THE GIVER Quartet.
Jane Alvey Harris Not very well. Lol. I ask for inspiration and dreams and then keep my eyes peeled, my ears open!
Jane Alvey Harris I'm working on book two: SECRET KEEPER, and three: PRIMED, of the My Myth Trilogy and OMG I'm so excited! My brain is also buzzing with a modern retelling of Rapunzel entitled ANATOMY OF A CURSE, and a fiction for adults called OBLIGATE, about the misadventures of an unrepentant femme fatale who must choose between repaying her karmic debts or slaving in eternal servitude as a spirit guide.
Jane Alvey Harris Do it and don't give up! Join a writing group, find a critique partner and don't put it off...seriously, if you start now think how much further along you'll be than if you wait. Writing your first work is a huge learning process and it takes TIME. I'm the most impatient person on the planet, but you can't speed through this. So just start, NOW. NO EXCUSES.
Jane Alvey Harris RIVEN is the culmination of myself, my kids, my friends and family and dreams. It comes from LIFE and IMAGINATION. Several people whom I love have experienced things similar to what Emily does in the book. I have personally been the Outcry Witness for six adult survivors of childhood abuse. I believe this story is very important.
Jane Alvey Harris People, dreams, and social issues inspire me. I have an extremely active dream life...it's one of my favorite things about myself...my subconscious takes the things I hear and see and read and experience and presents them to me in the most fascinating ways.
Jane Alvey Harris Oooohhh...definitely the dreaming. Oh! And the people watching (and eavesdropping)! I want everything in my writing to be authentic, and that comes down to motivation. I take my research very seriously. I'm passionate about what makes peeps tick, and I'm never bored while learning from my fellow humans. Of course, I usually only get glimpses into the lives of the strangers I observe. That's where the dreaming comes in. My imagination is off the hook. Combining real-life with fantasy is such a trip!
