the most recent one is Arson based - i guess the idea came from years of CSI work and seeing the devastation arson can cause.

so many things inspire me to write - the noise of leaves rustling in the trees as they lean in the breeze and whisper secrets to each other, news headlines, people I see when I'm out and about, a bug crawling up the wall - everything is magical in life. You just have to learn to see it - once you've mastered the art of seeing the magic, then inspiration just comes naturally.

Currently working on book 4 - it's an arson based crime novel set in the north east of England.

to write - there may be a story in your head that needs to come out, or you might just want to dabble and try your hand at writing - whatever your reason for wanting to, the only way to do it is to sit at the desk and write. Quite often it'll be a load of drivel, and you'll wonder why you're bothering at all - but keep at it. Finish the piece. Then move on to the next one.

I'd have to say it's actually writing - getting the story in your head down in a format that is readable and hopefully enjoyable to the readers - and interacting with other writers and readers too - I love meeting new people and chatting about general writerly stuff :)

I try doing something else for a while - go for a walk, go for a coffee in a shop in town etc, then get back to it with fresh eyes.
