I had covered these murder cases as a journalist, and I didn't want people to forget these victims or their harrowing tales. I have a theory that people these days have shorter attention spans, so I thought including these cases in an anthology format was appropriate.

My advice for writers is to read good work. When I first started as a journalist I read a slew of award-winning stories. It helped me understand what my readers enjoyed. I impart one piece of advice with college and high school students that I speak to. Tell a good story.
