The violence caused the dead to rise. They clawed their way from their graves - recognizing the familiar mountains, but not the century.

Pay attention to craft - don't think that a great idea will prevail over sloppy writing. Unfortunately, chances are that it won't. however, if you write well you will convey that you have ability which will contribute to your credibility. Read the very best in your genre. Try to learn from the best!

Whenever I hear a strange story, visit a new place or even read a book or watch a movie that somehow inspires me. Talking to people - really talking to them - can pop up all sorts of gems (and it makes you new friends, too)! I have NEVER believed that writing is a lonely occupation. Give back to the community you draw from, and you'd be surprised how fulfilling everything becomes.

I'm working on another Frontier Fiction that is nearing completion! It's about a Clairvoyant, a mining swindle and a fresh start! I'm currently in the deep editing phase, and hopefully it will be ready for submission soon. I like having a book to work on, even if it takes years until completion. I have already started the book that will be worked on after this (so far untitled) piece.

A friend was driving me across the old viaducts in Denver (which are no longer there) and casually mentioned that one of her relatives was a Denver Madam. I thought it was the most fascinating story EVER and had to wait to write it until a few of the older generation in her family passed away.
The possibilities that went with that occupation stuck with me all these years - and involved a lot of interesting research.
