Sherry V. Ostroff I put on some really good classical music. They say it raises your IQ a few points. Then I get a mug of hot tea. Close the door and write. My best ideas come while I'm sitting in front of the computer in the midst of a story.
Sherry V. Ostroff I am finally doing what I've always wanted to do. I have found my dream job. I love talking to people about my writing projects.
Sherry V. Ostroff Write. The first word, the first sentence and the first paragraph are the hardest, but you have to get it down on paper. That's when the ideas start to flow.
Sherry V. Ostroff I have two projects. One is a historical novel about two women who are separated by three centuries until their lives intersect. It's adventure, mystery, romance, history and a bit of the unusual. The second is a series of short funny stories that are autobiographical.
Sherry V. Ostroff I've always wanted to write. When I was a kid I was a girl scout. I only earned two badges, one in reading and one in writing. I've always been a voracious reader which fueled my passion for writing. Although I taught writing in public school, my personal passion remained dormant until I finished reading (twice) the entire Outlander series by Diana Galbadon. I was so impressed with her writing that I decided to give it a go. I am happy to say I found my passion.
Sherry V. Ostroff When I was little my mother use to tell me stories about her childhood in Eastern Europe. I loved them because I got to meet my mother as an equal. Many years later, when she retired, I asked her to write down her story, including how she escaped the vicious pogroms and fought to get into the United States. She presented me with over 100 pages of handwritten manuscript. After reading her memoir, I knew I had to publish it one day. That day has arrived. The book is available on Amazon.com and as an e-book on Kindle.
