Don't focus too much on if it's been said before, heard before, or done before. All that matters this time is that your voice is unique, and you are now telling the story from that perspective. Stay focused, believe in yourself and WriteON!

Interestingly enough I got the idea for Truth You Told well over four years ago while sitting in a church service. In fact, one of the scenes I write for my main female character, Jaeda (Landry) Philips, is based on that day. Yet this is not a religious-themed book. Lol!
What happened: I discovered a square, folded piece of paper tucked inside my bible while flipping through pages to find the scripture reference given by the Pastor delivering a sermon; when I opened it only a phone number was written inside. No other information. I didn't recognize the number and the writing wasn't my own. That was the seed that started this story.

I am currently working on my debut release. It is a labor of love. LOL! It is a suspense fiction novel where family ties bind together a husband's obsession for a child; a father's desire to reunite with his daughter and a mother's fear of conceiving again. Working Title: The Truth You Told.

I read either books on the craft or fiction books in the genre I'm writing in. If I need a complete break, then I'll read from a different genre. I also use writing prompts and will apply the prompts to my work-in-progress (WIP). That’s been really helpful in moving me past the block and back into writing.

Hi Willette, thank you so much! I am just seeing this post but knew about the opportunity through my sister scribes. Lol! We are all excited about the opportunity and looking forward to it! My email address is yvettedanl@gmail.com.
