Hey, Drea! Thanks for inquiring about my next novel. At this point, it's difficult to share many details because so many of them will change as the story unfolds. But I can tell you that I am about six chapters into the manuscript, and I am very excited about this novel!
It's set in a small town in Eastern NC (surprise, haha!) but one of the main characters is a physician from the Raleigh area. An unlikely friend convinces her to head east to spend some time in a guest cabin on his family's strawberry farm. That's where she meets the leading man . . .

I am currently writing Novel #3 which is yet to be given a title. I have a few in mind but will wait to see how the story unfolds before I do anything more than pencil-in a few ideas. Like my other novels, Novel #3 is set in Eastern North Carolina--Washington to be exact. Like many southern towns, it has a magnificent waterfront area near the downtown district. I hope you will plan to pick up your copy of Novel #3 as soon as it releases (hopefully in time for Christmas 2017)!

The anticipation of summer reading is so exhilarating! The first two books on my summer reading list are:
-The Light Between Oceans (M.L. Stedman)
-Dear Carolina (Kristy Woodson Harvey)
Please respond with your list--I would love to know what you'll be reading by the beach or pool this summer!

Thankfully, I have not ever experienced writer's block. If this ever does occur, I believe I would try to step outside of my normal routine in an attempt to overcome the obstacle. That might mean writing in a different setting (ie: a coffee shop instead of my office), writing at a different time (evening rather than morning or afternoon), or maybe even writing for different lengths of time that I'm accustomed. I think the key is to change something (probably not everything) and be determined to find a way to either get around the block or smash straight through it!

When I'm thinking of book ideas, I brainstorm thousands of possible story lines. With A Bridge Apart I started with the idea of a story about two people, deeply in love, who were just about to sail off into the sunset. But, as with real life relationships, there are always obstacles to overcome. I decided to introduce a scenario that would test trust and forgiveness, and figure out along the way how the characters would respond. I started with that, and the rest is history!
