My idea for "Buried Secrets" was fueled when I visited an old castle here in Missouri. In reading the history of it, I knew I had to create book 2 in the Houses of Mystery series. My characters kind of developed on their own, as they sometimes do.

My inspiration to write actually came from learning to read when I was four. I was an only child for eight years and found my entertainment in visiting make-believe worlds within the pages of a book. From there I went to writing poetry and stories. It wasn't until I retired in my 60s that I got serious and published my first novel.

I am currently working on Book 3 of my Pacific Coast Legacy series and Book 3 of the Houses of Mystery series.

Not to give up if you have a passion for writing. Don't be in a hurry to publish the first thing you write. Put it away for at least a month and then come back to it. Make sure your first publication is the best it can be.
Also, do not judge your self-worth as an author by other authors. You are an individual with a different writing style that's unique. Someone out there will like what you write.

Being able to bring all my imagination to life on the written pages. Getting feedback from readers telling me they were touched by my stories is a great honor.

That's a tough one. I usually try to have book covers made ahead for my books and looking at them usually motivates me to write. Sometimes, I have to wait for the characters to nudge me.
