Mr. Alanson, I just finished every one of your books. I must say that I am a HUGE fan of your writing and can't wait to see more. I hope you're working on book 12 now as I'm dying in suspense over the ending of book 11? Until then, I'm going to start over from book one.
Craig Alanson Thank you! Book12: Breakaway was completed in January, it is now being recorded for audio and will release (ebook, print and audio) on June 1st. Book13 is almost 40% complete, will release in December

On average how soon after the release date of one of your books does it come out on Audiobooks? Does it get released at the same time?
Craig Alanson The audio now releases on the same day as the ebook/print version. Usually I have the manuscript complete 90+ days before the release, to give time for the audio to be recorded and mastered

Hey Craig, love the series so far and hats off to your speed of publishing! Question: Why do you constantly mix metric and imperial measurements? Yes, depending on where you live, it's matters. The inconsistency and fluctuation, even within one sentence, makes it hard to digest. Question: Will you consider selecting one and go with it? Keep up the universe and character expansion!
Craig Alanson The story is mostly told by Joe Bishop, and because he is American he grew up thinking Imperial units. In the military he learned to use metric, but Joe is scattered-brained and he switches back and forth

I'm getting ready to start the "E F" audiobook series and I was wondering where "Death Trap - Mavericks" fits in the storyline?
Craig Alanson Deathtrap and Freefall follow a group of people that were left behind on Paradise when Joe and Skippy left. Warning... there is no Joe/Skippy in them. However, there are a lot of great characters and humor. My wife actually likes them better because she says she lives with Skippy and Joe and needs a break.😉

Craig, I wish to say that I LOVE the series, it along side The Iron Druid Chronicles are my two favorite sets of books. Now on to my question, can you please insist that any further audiobooks include out takes at the end? I was doubled over at the kitchen sink and damned near drown myself when the outtakes came on I was laughing so hard. Thanks!
Craig Alanson You’ve gotten your wish! We are now doing outtakes on every book! I agree. RC is a talented voice actor and his outtakes are hilarious!

How do you write such excellent military sci-fi if you haven't served in the military?

Hi Craig, I’ve been wonderfully surprised by the humour, intricacy and addictiveness of your ExForce series! I fell into it accidentally and have not been able to read (listen to) anything else. I’m about to start Book 9, and I can preemptively feel the onset of deprivation as I wait for Book 10! You mentioned that it was due next August- do you mean August 2020 or 21? If it’s the latter, please send medical aid now!

When pandemic-COVID19 started - I ordered (from whoever I could find) - all your Expeditionary Force. Unfortunately - the COVID19 is not over and I just finished Valkyrie book 9 - I ate all of them on bread like a maniac. Until book 10 - what - will I do ? What can I do ? PS: Thank you for making this home isolation rules a wonderful time for me with your series.

Would you release Homefront in another format? I never got the hang of audiobooks
Craig Alanson Not in the foreseeable future. I’m under contract for the rest of the series and the schedule is pretty tight. However, Homefront has just been rereleased. A lot of the stuff that people complained about has been corrected and people seem to really like the new product. So if you were ever going to try an audio, this might be the one. You can return it if you absolutely can’t handle it.

I just finished listening to Valkyrie Craig, AND IT WAS AMAZING! Thank you for your hard work on it, but I almost hate you for the cliff hanger! (in a Joe towards Skippy kinda way of course) xD Absolutely evil! I noticed a previous question asked when the next book would come out and your response was next August. That was in 2019 his question was asked. Does that mean August 2020, or August 2021?

Is there any more information. about a series on Netflix's?
Craig Alanson Unfortunately, no. However, when the first option expired, we got another offer by someone who wants to try to sell it. We know these people pretty well and hope that they will be able to do sonething with it. This Covid thing is F-ing up the entertainment industry, too!

I really need to know (as you faked a story plot before in the Expeditionary force) are you writing a book 10 to continue the series. redo your ending. I would have continued listening to this series to the end of time. why did you end it the way it did, i don't get it?

Will critical mass be the last book in the series will we find out if the humans will prevail in that book will there be other ones how long do you think this series will run before completion? I want to know how this all going to work out the suspense is killing me

Hi Craig, absolutely loving Ex Force. If the series does come to TV can you insist RC Bray does the voiceover for Skippy? there can be no one else :D
Craig Alanson I agree but no. If it gets picked up, the people soending millions of dollars to produce it get final say. Not oretty but seems fair!

Hi Craig, big fan of the series but not so much of homefront, I think its great to try different things but personally it was not for me. That being said i was wondering if there was a written version or summary of homefront? i still want to read the story especially with the release of Armageddon coming up.
Craig Alanson Hi, Michael - I am working on a novelization of Homefront. It is slow going, the script requires a serious rewrite to adapt. I’m trying to fit it into an already packed writing schedule! It definitely won’t be done before Armageddon comes out. Sorry!

Craig Alanson Hi, Kurt - this is Irene, Craig’s wife. What kind of idiot do you think I am? I’m not smothering him until he completes ExForce. The next Mavericks book is due out in May. I think they are trying to do book and audio together! Thanks for being a fan.
