Amelia Doherty I honestly am terrified by horror, so I don't read much of it. I think horror changes quite a lot.

* They broke my bones one by one. I didn't know the answers to their questions.
* Grandma rang again. She was buried years ago.
* Nobody smiled. So he made them.
Amelia Doherty This is hard. There's a lot of amazing worlds (and well-written but not-so-amazing worlds that I wouldn't want to find myself in). I think I'm going to go with the flow here and say that I'd go to Hogwarts. Honestly, I'd just enjoy learning and I'd probably spend my time conversing with the ghosts (especially Professor Binns because, despite what Harry says, I bet History of Magic is super interesting).

Amelia Doherty I like to use photograph prompts. These can be as simple or complex as I wish. Sometimes I focus on a small detail, or a huge photograph. Sometimes, I ask my family to say a word and then base a poem around it. Sometimes, it just happens.

People tend to get surprised that I will sometimes stop what I'm doing and write ferociously- but it's just a random inspiration moment.
Amelia Doherty Write! Do not even think, don't plan, just write, and don't stop till you're satisfied! What are you doing on Goodreads? Just write!
Amelia Doherty When someone reads your work, and they like it.
They don't have to say they like it. A simple smile or laugh as they read something... that's the best part about being a writer. Sharing your ideas and dreams and nightmares to the world, and it to be an art. When someone comments that your work is great. When you inspire someone else. When you distract someone from whatever problems they may have... that's what being a writer is.
Amelia Doherty I simply have a bit of a break from writing!
I get writer's block all the time, I think it's just because of writing for too long. Take a break for a few hours, or even a few minutes. I like to watch a few videos on YouTube or have a hot chocolate. Simply forgetting about writing for a short time can help.
Amelia Doherty It's my tenth poetry book, titled 'Map of Illusions'. I hope you guys will like it, it seems more positive than my past works! It will also be my record-breaking anthology (most poetry books written by a teenager).
