Fay Lamb The next two stories in that series are Hope and Delilah. And if you liked that series, please check out my Mullet Harbor Christmas series.
Fay Lamb The fish swam in the waters beyond the glass enclosure, not bothered by my pounding on the tomb in which I'd been placed and dropped from the boat into the sea. They understood, I'd be there with them for a long time.
Fay Lamb I gotta tell you. It would be my own world. I'd live in Mullet Harbor, Florida, where I would get along wonderfully with the quirky folks who lived there. And I'd vacation in Amazing Grace, North Carolina, catching up with the folks there and trying to avoid the suspense that lives there.
Fay Lamb When I was younger, I was a latchkey kid. My sister and I were home alone at night, and the neighborhood boys would scare us by looking into the window. For years, at night, I had to have my blinds closed. More recently, though, I worked in my office with a large window in the front yard. One night, I was writing away. I looked up, and a man in a yellow shirt was standing to the side of my window watching me. He turned and walked away. Pretty much, blinds are closed every night, but I think this has great potential for a story.
Fay Lamb The only way to deal with writer's block is to write. Don't be afraid of the page. Nothing you write is permanent until it goes to print. The writing stage is the time for adventure. Enter it fearlessly. Your characters are waiting, and they have some surprises for you--the writer--that you will pass along to your readers. Just let your characters go. Reel them in later after you've learned all you can about them. They might just give you material for another story and another and another.
Fay Lamb I go on a vacation every time I sit down and venture into a story. It's the best experience in the world.
Fay Lamb I have two answers for this question 1) fiction is an art. Treat it as such. Learn the elements that go into "showing" a great story; and 2) never ever let anyone steal your dream--including you. Learn to accept criticism, to value criticism, but also study the art so well that you will know when to discard bad advice.
Fay Lamb Currently, I'm working on two different projects. One is a multi-author collaboration entitled The Love Boat Bachelor, which is a sequel to last year's Valentine's Day success, A Dozen Apologies.
I'm also working on my next full length novel, the third story in the Amazing Grace series. The book is a romantic suspense entitled, Everybody's Broken.
