Started as a very simple alien invasion story with the MC kicking butt and saving the day. Cliches included!
At its core it is still about the MC kicking alien butt. It sort of evolved from there though, as I wanted to expand the story and see where it would go.

Not sure. Sometimes I don't want to write, but force myself to sit down and do it. Afterwards I feel so much better. I love imagining stories, but it's not easy getting them out of my head.

Sometimes I'll just write whatever comes to mind. Even if it doesn't fit in with where my story was supposed to be headed. That will spur my creativity, or in some cases, let me see other paths and send me in a completely new direction I hadn't thought of.
In other cases I have had to put the story aside for weeks while my brain stews on it! Usually happens when I write myself into a corner.
