Thanks for your kind words and sorry for the delayed response. I'm busy working on my second novel which should be released by Putnam, Summer 2018. Another family drama which has required much research...No word on film rights for WITH LOVE FROM THE INSIDE...I'd love to see it play out on the big screen.

WITH LOVE FROM THE INSIDE was written after my obessession with TV trials led me to research women on death row. How did they get there? Why are they there? And most importantly, how are their children coping? I wrote all 57 of them letters asking them questions, like how do you cope? And what is the worst time of day for you? I didn't find what I thought I'd find. The research really changed my view on justice in our country.

I recently signed with Putnam for a second novel. It is an intense family drama with the protagonist running from a very large problem.

Great question! I think all writer's have days when it is difficult to come up with anything remotely creative to say! For me, I allow myself to do something else for awhile. I read a book or exercise. I also try and picture the scene in advance—what it on the shelf, what is cooking in the oven, who might knock on the door. Thinking about the details (although I may never writing about those) usually gets my creativity flowing.
