The songs in this movie resonate with my search for the meaning of life.

The idea for my most recent book, entitled Beneath the African Sun has been percolating in my mind for many years. I wanted to expose British colonialism that fostered social injustices and created for the migrants a loss of belonging to a troubled yet beloved country of Kenya.

As a fiction writer, I am able to delve into a world of make belief. I create characters and put them in scenes that tell a story. I specifically attempt to capture the social justice issues in the story; it enables me to highlight issues that affect ordinary people's lives.

I revert to reading novels by authors who inspire me and in that way I am able to generate different ways to overcome the writer's block.
