I've had the idea for Marian and Dave since I was in my early 20's, but I never had the right setting for my story so I couldn't tell it. Eventually, I moved to the Pacific Northwest and I feel in love with the people and natural beauty. There were so many stories to absorb- so many colorful, whimsical people. When I moved to the Midwest I felt like Frederick the Mouse who had stored all the stories for the long cold winters. When 1888 and JukePop announced their Summer Writing Project, I knew I had to open my heart and share my characters, placing them in beautiful Bellingham, WA. From there, the story really wrote itself-- like a waking dream.
