There's a project I've been fighting for two years, but I've finally decided to give it a try. The outline is made, the cover image is staring at me, and the character sheets are ready for their finishing touches. I can't wait!

I'd go to Virgin River and visit Robyn Carr's characters, then pop over to Dublin (after the Walls fell) and fight Unseelie with Mac and Dani, Karen Marie Moning's Fever Series. Since I'd be in the neighborhood, I'd finish up at the Scottish island that served as the setting for the Cafe by the Sea, by Jenny Colgan where I'd read books until I croaked of content and old age.

The best thing about being a writer is letting my inner-control freak do my thing. It is an awesome feeling to design every detail of my own little world. When I'm writing, I see the characters as vividly as if I were watching them on a screen and do my best to put into words everything they are experiencing.

When I'm feeling stumped on a story or like I'm forcing the words, I back off for a while. Once I try to stop pushing myself to get where I want to go, something will happen to spark an idea. At that point I make as many notes as I can and jump back in where I left off.

When I started the Coal Country series, I had plans for at least four stories. I love a small town and the way characters naturally weave in and out of one another's lives - the same will be true for each of the four books.
When I wrapped up Fishing Hole I knew I wanted to find out more about the main character's sister. Something just didn't feel right with the relationship Anna was in, and I needed to get to the bottom of it. Sometimes you just know that someone can do better than what they're settling for, so I had to see what was waiting for her.
