Brandon J. Greer I get inspiration from all over the place. I have an idea for a novel called "Haderly's Summer Camp for Troubled Youth". It is a story about this summer camp that claims it can turn a troubled teen around in just three weeks. I got the idea for that story while riding the bus. We passed a vacant lot. I thought, wouldn't it be interesting if there was a large fence around that, and from the outside it looked like an ordinary field, but when you opened the gate, an entirely different world could be seen? And what if that world was full of mythical creatures and quests? And what if someone used it as a way to help troubled teens make a fresh start? Ideas come from everywhere.
Brandon J. Greer I know this is the answer given by many writers, but it is the best I can think of. If you have an idea for a book, just write it. Who cares if no one ever reads it, or it is a worldwide bestseller. Get the words out of your brain and onto paper.
Brandon J. Greer The best thing about being a writer is creating another world and watching someone else enjoy it. I love the creative process, but knowing that someone else was just as deep as I was is the best part.
Brandon J. Greer Writer's block is a doozy. It helps me to have multiple ideas going at the same time. It can freshen up my perspective when I can jump over to another project and join up with a different adventure.
Brandon J. Greer Hey, sorry I didn't see this. I haven't been on here much. I need to be better at this. You can get my book at Amazon. I have just come out with a new one as well. Sometimes I Dream is a collection of short stories and poems, but my new book, Jaxon and the Forbidden Cave is a young adult fantasy novel. Both are on Amazon. The paperback version of Jaxon and the Forbidden Cave will be available after next week.
Brandon J. Greer My current book is called The Rats of the Pantheon. It is about a young woman who is one of the last surviving humans. She is constantly hunted by what she calls rats. They are humans who have been turned into rodent like zombies.
After a particularlly stressful hunt for food, she finds out that there might be salvation for her. She leaves with a mysterious man who serves the Greek goddess Athena, which just so happens to be her name too.
A rival faction, the people of Alexander the Great, have also been looking for Athena, but for much more wicked purposes.
Brandon J. Greer My most recent book, which has not yet been published, is called Loravain's Gamble. It is currently being reviewed by two publishing houses. I got the initial idea for this novel when I was writing new versions of Fairy Tales. This story was supposed to be the story of Jack and Beanstalk, but from the Giants point of view. However, things evolved pretty fast, and now it is about a witch who was abandoned as a baby, and a slave of a wicked demon who is trying to destroy the world.
