Phoebe Rose I have a different Pandora station for every project! But I also listen to a lot of baroque music for concentration and film scores to get me into a certain mood. The score of Circe du Soleil's "O" has been a favorite lately for mood music, as well as the gorgeous singing and harp music of Yasmeensong. Really, how can this not put you in an artistic mood: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjAHU...
Phoebe Rose Dude, I'm such a sucker for romantic songs that it's a wonder I didn't realize sooner I was meant to be writing romance.

I have been known to belt out angsty Evanescence tunes, Lana del Ray, Lucinda Williams, Tracy Chapman, Ani, Tori, and many others. Women singing about love gone wrong: sign me up.
Phoebe Rose When I decided to start writing romance, I knew I wanted to write about couples and causes. My guy and I do animal rescue work together, and it's a passion for us. So I thought, why not start with a cause I know? It's so much fun to share with readers the details of fostering, humane trapping, socialization, and the other work that goes into helping feral cats and kittens. There are so many cute, adorable kitties who need their stories to be told! Oh, and the humans are ok too, I guess. ;)
Phoebe Rose Everything I need to write a book fits into a small laptop bag.

Once upon a time, I used to be one of those writers who needed everything perfect (my special desk, closed door, total silence, etc.) to create. Now I'm fully mobile and love to work in crowded cafes. Preferably sitting across from my writer friends, like Emma Thorne! ;)
Phoebe Rose It took me months to write the first couple chapters of Rescued... and only seven weeks to write the rest. Novel openings are always the toughest. Getting the character's voice right, without pausing the story, is a challenge. Once I get going, the story zooms forward like an avalanche and by the last few chapters I'm typing so fast it hurts my fingers.
