I stop what I'm doing and find someone to talk me through it- usually my brother :). If someone isn't available, then I change up tasks (clean the house, read a book, etc). Sometimes a break is necessary.

Pinterest! Seriously- I'm never on it but one day I was looking up steampunk images and found a few that captured my imagination. If you have read my book then you will know that there is nothing (or at least, very little) steampunk about it; however, that was the original angle of the book.
