Writer write. Don't wait for that bolt of lightening, don't start off thinking your are writing the next best thing. Just write and enjoy it. Do it because you love the idea or you just love writing.
Writers read. Read loads. Read stuff you like and stuff you think you'll hate. Make yourself find the good in something you think is rubbish and something rubbish in you favourite book. And enjoy reading, find out what makes you smile or cry or get scares.
Have fun. Life is to weird to take it seriously.

A lot of it comes from asking myself 'what if?' questions.
The secret is to never decide an idea is bad. It might work as a full story on its own, but could become a great scene in anther story.

I wanted to write something that was like a Netflix box set. So a wrote a bunch of short stories I thought would make good TV. Then I created a character to connect the stories, like a host.
The ideas for the stories came from asking questions like, what if you let an app make decisions for you?
It's been a lot of fun to work on.
