Yes, although I've spent more time in some of them like Paris and the BVI. I was in New Orleans this summer for book 4 in the Durand Chronicles which was a lot of fun. Book 5 is mostly set in Scotland where's I've spend time on several trips.

The resort planet Roarke owns in JD Robb's "In Death" series.

Yes, Carole. Mark plays a major part in all of the books in the series and will be the hero of the fifth and last.

On a rainy January day in Paris, my husband and I were strolling down the rue du Bac when a window display of framed insect specimens caught his eye.
We went into the charming little garden shop, browsed for a few minutes, and were about to leave when the woman behind the counter told us we absolutely must go upstairs.
We weren’t expecting much, but it was raining and cold outside so we climbed the worn stairs and emerged among Deyrolle’s incredible collection of taxidermy animals—featuring every species from elephants and giraffes to donkeys, wolves, rabbits, and even mice–all posed as though they are having a jolly time in the elegant townhouse. Then and there I fell in love with the place and every creature in it.
I joked to my husband, “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the man who owned Deyrolle could bring the animals to life when no one was around?” That imaginary man later became Adrien Durand, and IRRESISTIBLY YOURS is his story.

(view spoiler)[Since Tate is a healer and almost brought Andrien back to life, can't she heal whatever happened to him and made him sterile? (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Thanks for the question, Sofia! Hope you enjoyed the book!
The damage to his hip is too old and too extensive for her to heal--crushed bones that healed in misalignment while he was in the Shalamov dungeon. There's a good chance medical science--led by
Durand Tech--will come up with something to help him sooner or later.
As for the sterility--that would take complete regeneration of destroyed "equipment." She can't do that.
Hope this answers your question.

I love being immersed in a story and letting my characters be themselves. Sometimes they cooperate and it's lovely. Other times they don't and that can be agony.

I just finished the 3rd book in the Durand Chronicles, RECKLESSLY YOURS, which is Chantal Durand and Tanner Hays's book. (Tanner appears in Book 1). It's kind of a Raiders of the Lost Ark story set in Glacier National Park in a blizzard.
I just started Victor Durand's story which set in New Orleans. Yup, there's a feisty Louisiana heroine, a stolen cursed necklace and Voodoo!

Write. Write a lot. Write your first book then write another. Learn craft and story structure. Get feedback--writing contests can be great for this. If you write romance, lots of RWA chapters have excellent contests. And keep writing.

Here's where to find it, Ray: http://writeordie.com/ There's a free online version (see bottom of the page for the old version) or you can download it to your computer for $20. I like the desktop version but you might want to try it before you buy it.

I use a diabolical program called WRITE OR DIE makes rude noises and turns the screen red if I stop typing--it forces me to write fast without self-editing. My sub-conscious comes up with brilliant plot twists--mostly in desperation, I think.
