Is Twitter a distraction or help to your writing? As an author myself, I feel like it actually keeps my mind sharp to take a quick Twitter break from time to time.

Ron Fournier I agree, John. It's only a distraction if I allow it -- if I want it to be. Otherwise, it helps me pressure-test thoughts, expand my thinking, and even find new sources of information.

How do you get inspired to write?

Ron Fournier Deadlines.

I've been known to email a friend or colleague and say, "Please tell me to stop screwing around and get the (column/chapter) done by noon."
