Simple, writing itself. Taking what's in my head because I am compelled to do so and writing it down in some fashion.

I don't do outlines or story boards, I have built every story over something rather simple, sometimes trivial, because it's the first whisper I get from a character. One book was written around a 2 word phrase that I'm pretty sure my main male character made up. One was written around the timing of a 3 word truth, and the one I'm working on now was written around a fictional 15 second video that the main female wasn't supposed to see.

It was an escape in middle school. I wrote in my diary as if it were the diary of someone else, someone way cooler, that's when my first character introduced herself.

I really can't do much about it, but wait for it to pass. I usually listen to music I've never heard before, completely outside my typical and people watch some place interesting hoping that something sparks while I'm waiting for it to pass.
